Johnsonville Middle School
The mission of Johnsonville Middle School is to provide each student with a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, respect, motivation, creativity, and excellence in learning. Through a diverse educational experience, JMS continues to encourage and educate students to be confident, knowledgeable, responsible and productive citizens in an ever-changing world. Teachers and parents work together to accomplish the level of achievement desired for JMS students.
The school has continued to implement the i-Ready online assessment and instruction that allows the teachers to provide students a path to proficiency and growth in reading and math. Students have yearly and stretch i-Ready goals to master throughout the year. Dream Box Math and Reading Plus are additional learning resources that students have worked on to help close the achievement gaps in learning. Utilizing MTSS meetings to discuss student data and progress on a consistent basis, having assistance from the Literacy Coach and MTSS Coach, providing instructional tutors in each grade level, and participating in school-wide and grade level PLC’S on data dives are various strategies that are collaborated on as a team to meet the individual learning needs of our students.
At Johnsonville Middle School, we offer various programs outside of the classroom environment to help our students develop into well rounded individuals. Many of the extracurricular activities and clubs include Capturing Kid’s Hearts, Incentive Celebrations for Academics and Behavior, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Academic Challenge Team, Junior Crusaders, Beta Club, JMS Talent Show, FSD5 Drama Cast, Cool Beans Reading Cafe, Show Choir, and JMS Athletics. Johnsonville Middle School was a part of the “B” team in conjunction with the ninth-grade students from Johnsonville High School. The JMS basketball teams had a successful season and were supported by the JMS cheerleaders who cheered at both football and basketball games. Many middle school athletes also participated on high school sports teams such as volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball, golf, and track.
The vision at Johnsonville Middle School is built on empowering all stakeholders to embrace a pathway to excellence. Together we strive to help all of our students develop a love for learning and good lifelong habits. Johnsonville Middle School is dedicated to providing all students the ability to develop world class skills by empowering them to excel academically, artistically, and athletically.
