“Our school is helping all of its students develop the world-class skills and life career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.” We accomplish this by promoting the skills necessary for students to experience success in the workforce as well as in post-secondary educational opportunities.
The 2021-2022 school year was a unique year as we worked our way out of the pandemic. The transition from virtual to full time in person learning was not without struggle, but the faculty and staff worked diligently with students to ensure a smooth transition. Despite various obstacles, our school experienced an outstanding year with one of our largest graduating classes in school history.
The vocational programs at the school were expanded through the addition of a health science program and a personal finance class. The health care industry is one of the largest employers in the CSRA and Fox Creek is working to provide our students as much exposure to this field as possible. 95% of our seniors applied to colleges and/or universities. Our students were exposed to college and career opportunities through an EdOps college fair that visits the school in October. The school also held a college and career fair held in late May.
Our dual enrollment program has successfully completed its 10th year and continues to offer 45 hours of potential college credit. We offer a Teacher Cadet program, four History courses, four Math courses, including Calculus, two Biology courses, and two English courses. In addition to these 45 hours of credit, we also offer AP Environmental Science and AP Human Geography.
Our fine arts department participated in more opportunities which were previously not allowed due to COVID. Our drama students held a wonderful spring play. The band students were able to perform at football games and to compete in the fall. The marching band qualified for the state competition for the third time in their competitive history. The concert band also achieved a superior status at CPA.
Our faculty continues to develop professionally. Several of our educators have enrolled in advance degree programs and five completed advanced degree programs in various post-graduate programs of study. As our educators advance themselves professionally, we are pleased to pass their success forward to our students in the form of additional programs.
We look forward to continued progress in the 2022-2023 school year. At Fox Creek High School the goal continues to be driven towards the success of students. A success that cannot be achieved without the continued support of faculty, staff, and board members. Though the past years have been difficult as a result of the pandemic, our students and faculty have prevailed. With that in mind, we embrace the new school year as we look forward to many outstanding student successes!
