The past school year presented challenges we could never anticipate. In March, we shifted to eLearning literally overnight. We lost face to face contact with our students and our teachers were asked to design instruction in ways they had never done before. Because we are a one to one district, we were better prepared to deliver eLearning than many districts. That being said, we have worked to improve eLearning by providing new access to digital content and resources for our teachers in the event of eLearning in the future.
The pandemic also affected our ability to assess students at the end of the year, so final data points for students on End of Course tests (EOC), SCReady and SCPass could not be measured. As a result, this year's SC Report Card cannot report full data nor assign a school rating. This report card will contain all of the data that can still be generated. As students return in 2020-2021, we will assess them and determine how to best meet their academic needs and minimize the impact of the pandemic as much as possible.
As we plan for the upcoming school year, we do not yet know all of the circumstances we may face. Clover School District has worked tirelessly to organize and design a 20-21 school year that can address whatever needs we may have and whatever conditions we may face. Not only will eLearning capabilities be improved, we will unveil our Clover Virtual Academy and design learning environments that range from face to face, to hybrid, to virtual.

Clover School District has a strong commitment to early childhood education. The district’s pre-k program serves 240 four-year-old students with twelve highly qualified Early Childhood teachers and twelve instructional aides. Pre-k classes are full day with lunch and transportation provided by the district.
The district’s elementary schools serve students in pre-k through fifth grade. The S.C. Curriculum Standards are the foundation of the instructional program. Students also receive weekly instruction in art, music, physical education, and technology. Each school is staffed with highly qualified teachers, a full-time nurse, a guidance counselor, and grade level teaching assistants.
The district’s middle schools serve students in sixth through eighth grades in a modified middle school program model. The South Carolina Curriculum Standards are the foundation for all core content instructional courses. Students also have the opportunity to take three courses for high school credit beginning in the eighth grade - Algebra 1, English 1, and Spanish 1. Band, chorus, and athletics, along with student clubs and organizations, complement the academic program. This year, we are adding two new electives in our middle schools: Agriculture and Drama. All middle schools have one full time nurse, three school counselors, and two assistant principals.
Clover High School serves students in grades nine through twelve on a 4 x 4 block schedule model with frequent flex times during which students can seek out supports they may need. Students in grades 9 through 11 take eight courses per year with a comprehensive final exam which counts 20% of the final grade. Freshmen are served at the 9th Grade Campus, a separate facility on the greater CHS campus. The South Carolina Curriculum Standards are the foundation of the high school instructional program. Clover High School offers elective courses in fifteen of sixteen nationally recognized career clusters. The Applied Technology Center offers high school majors in agriculture, architecture and construction, AV Tech, automotive technology, business management, finance, informational technology, marketing, education and training, engineering (Project Lead the Way), health science, hospitality and tourism, lineworker and human services. Emphasis is placed on offering a work credential and/or a work-based-learning opportunity with each CTE program of study, and our students earned over eight hundred credentials this school year.
Students wishing to take an advanced course of study may take honors courses, advanced placement courses, dual enrollment courses and college courses. Award winning fine arts and competitive athletics are offered, along with student clubs and organizations, complement the rigorous academic program.
Clover High School is host to Western York County Middle College through a partnership with York School District One and York Technical College. Middle College students who are ready spend part of their junior and senior year taking courses on the campus of York Technical College. Additionally, many CTE programs include dual enrollment opportunities through YTC, and several dual enrollment academic courses are offered through USC-Union to qualified students. Clover High school runs a fully operational i-School, which offers virtual college prep, honors and advanced placement courses in English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education and health. The high school has two full time nurses, six guidance counselors, and four assistant principals.
