Lee Central Elementary School opened the 2025-2026 school year as a newly consolidated school, bringing together students, families, and staff from three former school communities. Throughout the year, the school embraced the unique strengths and traditions of each community while intentionally building a unified school culture and climate centered on student success.
Community stakeholders played an active role in establishing the school's identity by selecting the school's name, colors, and mascot. The school mascot was then designed by a staff member, further reflecting the collaborative spirit and pride that characterize the Lee Central Elementary School community. To enhance the learning environment and strengthen the school's identity, vibrant murals were installed throughout the building. These murals celebrate the school's values, showcase student aspirations, and create welcoming spaces that foster pride, belonging, and inspiration for students, staff, and visitors. The artwork contributes to a positive atmosphere while reinforcing the school's culture and vision.
As a newly consolidated school, intentional efforts were made to build positive relationships among faculty and staff from the three former school communities. Through collaboration, team-building activities, shared leadership opportunities, and a commitment to a common vision, staff developed strong professional relationships that fostered unity, trust, and a sense of belonging, creating a positive work environment that benefited students and strengthened school culture. A shared commitment to excellence guided the development of the school's mission, vision, and beliefs. Staff, parents, and community members collaborated to create a framework that reflects the school community's values and aspirations while fostering ownership and partnership among stakeholders.
Lee Central Elementary School maintained a strong focus on teaching and learning throughout the year. Collaborative teams used data analysis, staff expertise, and targeted instructional strategies to support student achievement. Data-driven decision-making informed instruction, interventions, and enrichment opportunities, while ongoing professional development reinforced continuous growth for educators and students. Student achievement, leadership, and positive behavior were celebrated through recognition programs highlighting academics, character, and service. More than 30 students were inducted into the Jr. Beta Club in recognition of academic excellence and leadership. Students also had opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, including a school cheerleading group that promoted school spirit, teamwork, and leadership. School-wide events, including Red Ribbon Week, Black History Month, Autism Awareness Week, and spirit weeks, promoted engagement, cultural awareness, inclusion, and positive decision-making. During Autism Awareness Week, students and staff participated in activities and a school-wide parade that celebrated diversity, fostered understanding, and reinforced the school's commitment to inclusive practices where all students feel valued, respected, and supported. Students also demonstrated success beyond the school setting. Through a partnership with SCASA, Jason Learning, and ReMA, the school participated in a state-level recycling contest. Three students earned top honors in the K–4 division for outstanding poster and video submissions that showcase creativity, environmental awareness, and academic achievement.
Family and community partnerships and engagement remained a priority. Approximately 50 percent of families attended parent-teacher conferences, and consistent communication was maintained through various modalities. Families also participated in the Winter Celebration, Awards and Promotion ceremonies, and the school’s first STEM Night. This evening provided students and families with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promoted problem-solving, creativity, and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, while also continuing to build the school-home connection through interactions with families and staff.
As Lee Central Elementary School looks ahead, it remains steadfast in its commitment to keeping students at the center of every decision. Guided by the belief that "Excellence is Our Standard," the school will continue to foster an inclusive culture where high expectations, continuous improvement, shared accountability, and meaningful collaboration drive success for all. Faculty and staff are dedicated to promoting growth for every student by providing engaging instruction, targeted support, and opportunities that challenge students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Through strong partnerships with families and the community, ongoing professional learning, and a zeal for excellence, Lee Central Elementary School will continue to build on the foundation established during its inaugural year. As a school community that believes respect, integrity, and responsibility form the foundation of a thriving school culture, we will ensure that growth for all and students first remain at the heart of our mission and vision.
