Our district is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by ensuring that they are exposed to the four Cs - critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Whether in academics, athletics, fine arts or community service, our students, teachers, administrators, Board of Trustees and our community worked together to continue to create a unified culture of excellence. With our students at the center of all that we do, we have embraced our guiding principle of “ALL IN. Every Child, Every Day- Whatever It Takes”.
Critical thinking and collaboration are promoted through Project Based Learning. Each teacher began development on a project based learning experience for their students. Through this process, not only students, but teachers also learned more about thinking critically and collaborating with each other to make the experience truly authentic. When students are able to design their own problem to solve and experience both success and failure in the process, the learning becomes a real-life experience.
The continuation of programs like The Leader In Me, The Energy Bus, and Compassionate Schools, enhanced the characteristics of integrity, self-direction, perseverance, work ethic, and interpersonal skills from a local to global perspective. These programs encourage communication within the school and within the district and community. Whether through mentoring a peer or younger student, completing a sock-drive, providing relief for those in need, caroling in the community, or participating in a community day of service, students in Spartanburg School District Three are learning that each of the four Cs are crucial to the success of such events.
Our Board of Trustees and administration are to be commended for their hard work and dedication to the students in Spartanburg School District Three and their continued support to high quality education and the safety of our students.
