Clifdale Middle helps all students develop world-class life skills and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate in a community school atmosphere that offers personal, one-on-one interaction with teachers, staff, coaches, and classmates. Our theme for the school year was Be Responsible, Respectful, Reflective, BE YOU!
Clifdale Middle helps students develop skills through the continued use of one-to-one mobile technology. Students use their personal devices to research, create, communicate, and collaborate on class assignments. Students participate in career exploration through elective courses and career sessions with the guidance department. AVID classes research colleges and universities and visit local institutions of higher learning.
Through school-wide initiatives that focus on cognitive, social, emotional, and civil growth, faculty and staff foster an environment that promotes learning and the betterment of self.
Clifdale Middle offered opportunities for students to excel in academics through academic clubs, a spelling bee, book challenges, stem robotics, and additional high school courses. Field studies at a South Carolina science camp, Atlanta, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Washington, DC provided hands on experiences. Students celebrated academic and behavioral growth. A Mr. and Miss Clifdale were crowned at the inaugural Clifdale Middle Pageant, and eighth graders enjoyed the first Clifdale Semi-Formal to celebrate their middle school years. It was a great year for Clifdale Centurions to BE YOU!
