Lakeview Middle School is preparing all students to develop the world-class skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by focusing on the district's G+ initiative. Our continuous focus is to improve instructional practices and continue to grow a positive and collaborative school culture. These values are emphasized in our school's focus on growth mindset and WICOR practices.
At LMS, we strongly believe that supporting teachers is one of the best ways to move a school forward. Our support of teachers this past year included providing a wide array of professional development and support opportunities that focused on the connection of AVID practices, technology, and differentiation. It also meant providing time and structure for teachers to collaborate in Professional Learning Communities within grade level and content teams.
At LMS, we also believe that robust collaboration with the parents and the community helps to improve student achievement. During the 2023-2024 school year, we will be hosting Parent Universities. With this program, we hope to invite families into the school and provide support for academic, social, and community needs. We will continue our partnership with the OnTrack Greenville program as it finished its sixth year of implementation. We are pleased to see positive results from this collaboration as the data evidenced an increase in the number of students receiving direct intervention services. Finally, we also partnered with KEYS once again this year. KEYS provided support for our entire school community through their student incentives, teacher sponsorships, and teacher recognition support.
Lakeview Middle School continues to work hard in ensuring we are a school "where character is developed with intellect." We believe we are on the right track to building a better graduate while recognizing that relationships, relevance, and rigor will yield positive results.
