Hillcrest High School is a public high school (9th-12th grade) located in Simpsonville, South Carolina that is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our focus is on providing a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment and establishing a school culture that emphasizes relationships and two-way communication with stakeholders. This relationship-driven culture has been and continues to be key to Hillcrest’s fostering of partnerships with our students’ families and the Golden Strip community.
We see our mission as to equip our students not just with a high school diploma but also with the skills and experiences necessary to excel in college and/or the work force. By leveraging the relationships and partnerships with our stakeholders we have been able to raise our graduation rate, College and Career Readiness, and achievement in all four of our core content areas as measured by the EOCEP compared to the previous year.
Hillcrest boasts a variety of high quality co-curricular and extracurricular experiences for our students to augment their academic learning including an award-winning Agricultural Science program, numerous championship-achieving athletic teams, “Superior”-rated band, chorus, and orchestra programs, a rapidly-developing FIRST Robotics team, and a multiple of other groups and clubs that are as diverse and dynamic as our student body. We see these experiences as not simply being supplemental to a student’s development and academic success but, rather, essential for fostering community, school spirit, and pride within the student body. All students have the opportunity to create relationships, feel connected within the school, express themselves through their interests, and exercise leadership while so doing.
Hillcrest is proud of the resiliency and growth of our students, the efforts and contributions of our staff, and support of our community. The Golden Strip community is proud of the rich history and legacy of Hillcrest High School yet we are excited about our future for our students have many more accomplishments still to come.
