Our School Profile
Nestled in the Taylors community, Eastside High School has a 53 year legacy of academic, athletic, and artistic excellence in Greenville County. Serving over 1,500 students, Eastside High School is a Palmetto Gold Award recipient, was named a Newsweek and USA Today Top High School, and was a finalist for the Dick and Tunky Riley SIC Award.
Staffed with highly qualified teachers and counselors, Eastside seeks to provide a rigorous academic experience for students while providing social and emotional wellness support and guidance for post secondary transitions to college and/or careers. We offer over 25 Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses as well as a plethora of Career and Technology Education courses in the areas of business, marketing, computer science, and sports medicine that allow students to earn multiple certifications. Our robust Fine Arts department offers students opportunities to showcase their skills and talents in performance, competitions, and school, local and state events in the areas of choral performance, band, orchestra, visual arts and theater. Our partnerships with the J Harley Bonds Career Center and the Fine Arts Center allow our students to pursue specialized interests in a variety of career and performance areas as well.
Eastside students have a plethora of ways to get involved in activities outside of the academic classrooms. With 24 title-winning athletic teams and over 30 clubs and student organizations, students have an opportunity to connect with other students with similar interests and talents. Many of the athletic teams and student organizations compete at the regional, state, and national levels where students can showcase their talents and abilities. Students also participate in an annual Spirit Week event in which the school, alumni and community members come together to raise money to support a local student-selected charity.
Parent involvement is a key element to our school’s success. Our active SIC and PTSA work closely together to help foster school and community relationships. Community outreach events, promotion and support of SEL programs for students and parents, and the funding of generous teacher grants for the classrooms are just a few ways in which these two parent and community groups support the initiatives of the school. Our All Sports Booster Club works tirelessly to support the 24 sub varsity and varsity athletic programs at Eastside High School.
No matter if you are a student, staff member, parent, alumni, or community stakeholder, it is always great to be an Eastside Eagle.
