Clio Elementary School (CES) is helping all students to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by empathizing the four Cs-critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. The staff at Clio Elementary School is committed to providing a curriculum that is both rigorous and engaging. The requisites enable students at CES to become avid critical thinkers and noteworthy problem solvers. Our vision is to partner with all stakeholders to develop responsible citizens, lifelong learners, and global leaders.
Clio Elementary School is dedicated to its’ mission of educating and enabling all students to achieve their highest potential. Our dedicated and highly motivated staff serve students in grades Pre-K through five. All students have access to Chromebooks to enhance instruction and student achievement. In addition, all classrooms are equipped with Promethium devices and laptop computers that are used to integrate technology within daily instructional practices.
On-going professional development continued to be a priority to enhance teaching and learning. During the 2022-23 academic year, staff members were engaged in professional development tailored to the implementation of the Science of Reading (LETRS), SC 4.0 Rubric, ADEPT, data analysis, small group instruction, and research-based best practices.
Innovative initiatives continued to enhance the learning experiences of students at CES. One-to-one technology continued to be implemented at all grade levels. IXL and DreamBox continued to be utilized as an intervention program during school hours and at home for the academic success of our students.
We routinely celebrated student success by rewarding students for their achievements in the areas of academics and attendance. This past year, CES implemented Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) to encourage positive behaviors and support students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. During the school year, students were recognized for their display of character based on monthly traits. Several students were also recognized at the district level for their outstanding character and leadership.
We work hard to ensure that our students have world class knowledge and skills by aligning all lessons to rigorous standards. We strive for continuous improvement by helping students to reach their highest potential.
The life and career characteristics of perseverance, integrity, and work ethics are encouraged through positive reinforcement. We are working hard to improve teaching, learning, and standardized test scores for all students.
We are proud to be Cavaliers at Clio Elementary School “Where Learning Never Ends”.
