“Dillon School District Four is helping all students develop the world-class knowledge, skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by teaching the South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
In Dillon School District Four, our highest priority is to ensure a quality education for all students by providing opportunities that promote student success and life-long learning. There will be opportunities for improvement as we implement the new five-year District Strategic Plan and prepare for the college and career readiness assessments.
Some of our accomplishments are:
*Received Accreditation through AdvancED.
*Technology improvements included: replaced all wireless access points and switches, updated labs in the middle and high schools, 1:1 device in grades K-12, new software programs, and new servers
*STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), ELA, and mathematics professional development.
*Dual Enrollment courses at NETC
*Emphasis in Literacy.
*Summer Reading Camp.
*Save the Children
*21st Century Learning Grant
*New District Technology Center opened in the Fall 2022
*Plans are now in place for a new elementary school. The expected opening date will be the 2024 2025 school year. South Elementary will merge with Stewart Heights Elementary starting August 2023 to begin the transition to the new Elementary school.
*Athletic and fine arts programs enhance the educational experience and an outlet for student talent and interest.
Below are barriers that prevent ongoing student progress:
*Poverty index for the district is at 87%.
*Dillon School District Four is a rural community with a limited local tax base.
Special thanks go to students, parents, staff, Board of Trustees, and the entire community for their hard work and support.
