Wilson High School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating an environment in which all students have the resources and support they need to become college and career ready. To create a school culture that is conducive to achievement, we have solicited input from parents and the surrounding community. Our philosophy at Wilson High School is that we are a family, and it is the responsibility of our Tiger Family to support all students.
Over the past school year, teachers and administrators have vigorously planned and collaborated to create innovative lessons to engage all students. Our focus has been to increase the number of students in Honors, IB/AP, and Dual Credit classes. We have also strived to create innovative career pathways, which includes the opening of the Wilson High Barbering Class. Students who complete the two year curriculum will graduate high school as a licensed barber in the state of South Carolina.
The 2021-22 school year was very exciting for Wilson High School. Students excelled in academics, arts, and athletics. The Wilson Class of 2022 earned over $13,000,00 in scholarships, and will have one of the highest graduation rates ever in school history. The school’s IB program was the largest in the state with over a hundred students in the cohort. Our year closed with great success when our boys basketball team won the South Carolina Class 4A State Championship.
Since 1866, Wilson High School has been providing the Knowledge, Skills, and Character for all students to succeed. Other than our dedicated faculty and staff, our greatest asset is the connection our school has to the community and the city of Florence, South Carolina. It is the aspiration of everyone affiliated with Wilson High School to provide the resources to students to become the future leaders of our great nation.
Go Tigers!
