At Oakridge Elementary, PK-5 school of 821 students, integration across the curriculum allows students to experience real-world relevance in the classroom through critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Our school continues to help all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by offering various opportunities to our students throughout the school year. Our vision of Oakridge Elementary School, in partnership with the community, is to prepare students to become confident life-long learners who are productive, respectful and responsible citizens. Oakridge Elementary School will strive to offer a quality education that meets the emotional, intellectual and social needs of all children to reach their maximum academic potential.
Our school offers students a variety of activities and courses. Examples include: The Great Kindness Challenge, chorus, Red Ribbon Week, Career Day, Careers on Wheels, Recycling Club, WOAK News Crew, Safety Patrol, Student Council, Let Me Run, and Sole Sisters. These activities provide students with the ability to use knowledge meaningfully and focus on the Four Cs. Additionally, good character is celebrated through our Eagle P.R.O.U.D. program by practicing Love and Logic.
There is open communication with parents throughout the school year to focus on students' strengths as well as areas needing improvement. We have a school and PTO Facebook page, school website, weekly email communication system and we utilize Canvas. Local churches, civic groups, community members and volunteers provide support through donations and mentoring our students. Our PTO exemplifies a true partnership between parents and school.
Accountability for teaching and learning is measured through district, state and federal assessments. Typically, students in grades 3-5 are formally assessed through SC Ready and students in grade 4 are formally assessed through SC PASS. At OES, our goal is to implement the mission of Clover School District daily, where our school will prepare each child for a successful, productive and responsible future.
