Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating a school culture that is focused on inspiring children to dream, explore, and inquire about their future career or college.
The 2021-2022 school year has been our third year as a school but it was really our first full year of face to face teaching and learning. Just two years ago it all started with the introduction of Gregg the Gator, our school mascot, and the official opening of our doors in August 2019. Graniteville Elementary students, teachers and staff came together from many different places to establish a school like no other. This year we embraced the challenge of going one to one with technology for all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. This was a learning curve for teachers, parents, and students but we embraced technology and are able to use it to not only enhance learning but also to ensure that students who are absent due to Covid 19 quarantines are able to continue learning from home. In spite of health and safety protocols, we did not change our commitment to teaching, learning, and most importantly, loving one another. Our focus at GVES is teaching and learning everyday with an emphasis on getting the little things right. That means we strive for our students to be fluent in both reading and math. It is our aim that we equip our students to achieve whatever they can dream. As we look toward our future we will not take for granted the opportunities that we have to learn together and we will continue to answer the call to teaching and learning everyday while getting the little things right.
