Manning Primary School is helping all students develop world-class skills, as well as life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate, by providing a nurturing environment where all students can be successful.
“Educating Children” is the mission of our school. During the 2020 – 2021 school year, Manning Primary School focused on utilizing effective learning strategies to increase student achievement. Pairing standards-based learning with enterprise learning placed students on the path to college and career readiness. Our 340 students were afforded various opportunities to grow academically and socially.
Manning Primary School’s 21st Century Program provided academic and cultural experiences for our students. The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment data was used to progress and monitor quality and meaningful instruction. Reading and math common assessments were used to align instruction with curriculum standards. The Curriculum Coordinator and Read to Succeed Coach worked with teachers and paraprofessionals to implement math and reading workshops, small group instruction, and the use of The Next Steps in Guided Reading Assessment tool.
Manning Primary School strives to meet the needs of the whole child. The implementation of TEAM (Teaching Encouraging Advising Mentoring) lessons engaged students in the process of collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Character education was addressed daily through morning announcements, outside marquee, newsletters, posters, and banners.
At Manning Primary, our students received counseling from our school counselor. The Department of Mental Health and Clarendon Behavioral Health Services offered school-based counseling services for our students. Our district social worker also provided support to our students.
Our students have access to Smiles Dental Clinic and the Clarendon Christian Learning Center. We remain focused on the diverse needs of the 21st Century Enterprise Learner.
