Colleton County Middle School supports all students in developing the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating partnerships among teachers, parents, and the community in order to provide the foundation of academic excellence in a safe environment. Colleton County Middle School is committed to meet the needs of all learners through different instructional models. The workshop model experience is comprised of mini-lessons and rotation stations within the classroom setting. The project-based learning model experience is comprised of inquiry and problem solving with collaborative groups in the classroom setting. Implementation of one-to-one technology has increased student engagement within the classroom and supported students during times of virtual learning. Our teachers serve as models for students in striving for academic excellence through weekly professional development to learn deeper learning strategies and strengthen current instructional practices. Meeting the individual needs of our students is our primary focus, and we utilize specialized staff to support students through the use of an instructional facilitator and EL teacher. We recognize the importance of developing students academically, as well as, socially and emotionally. Through incorporating Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) and an embedded Family Time, we encourage appropriate behaviors inside and outside of the classroom, as well as, reward students for using appropriate school behaviors. We are committed to the students and families of Colleton County Middle School and look forward to watching our students achieve their potential in all aspects of life. It is a privilege to be entrusted with the care and education of our students. Together, as we strive for excellence, we can make a difference both for our students and for the community.
