Beaufort Middle School supports and assists all students in developing the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through a focus on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This focus assists students in developing qualities of character, interpersonal skills, and self-direction.
BMS’ culture of excellence results from thriving community relationships and a focus on critical thinking and problem solving while supporting students socially, emotionally, and academically. Literacy-driven learning opportunities provide the instructional foundation that saturates all areas of student academic learning and development.
BMS is an Arts in the Basic Curriculum School, and the Distinguished Arts Program designation provides grant funding to integrate the arts. Artists-in-residence, including collaboration with the Pat Conroy foundation, provide opportunities to support arts integration in writing, visual arts, and media arts.
Beaufort Middle School continues our commitment to excellence by featuring an integrated learning environment for all students that combines a rigorous core curriculum with opportunities to extend student learning beyond the general curriculum for students with diverse needs, including gifted and talented learners.
All students are encouraged to achieve at the highest level in all aspects of learning. Through quality standards-based instruction, a faculty reflective of highly qualified diverse professionals, and a culture of collaboration, our program addresses the whole child’s needs. It prepares students to become 21st Century leaders.
