Pendleton High School has experienced another outstanding year, both academically and extracurricularly. We appreciate all of the stakeholders and their contributions that make our school a great place for learning to occur. We believe that a total education takes a committed group of individuals working together to not only accomplish our goals but also carry out the vision and mission of advancing our student and enabling them to reach their potential.
Our school has much of which to be proud. At PHS, we strive to prepare our students to be successful in the future by focusing on creating college and career ready graduates, increasing course rigor, and challenging students to push themselves by completing AP classes.By concentrating on these initiatives, the faculty and staff of Pendleton High School are actively working to ensure that all of our students are meeting the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
We are proud that our students continue to achieve great things academically. The class of 2021 consisted of 195 graduates. Twelve graduates qualified for the prestigious Palmetto Fellow Scholarship, and 137 qualified for Life Scholarships. Many students excelled in CATE as well, with approximately half of our CATE/AIT students earning concentrator or completer status.
We also strive for success in our athletic and co-curricular programs. Despite the unprecedented nature of this year, the Bulldogs still found success in competitions on the field, court, and classroom. After realignment, our athletic teams found themselves in one of the most competitive regions in the state, regardless of classification, and rose to the challenge. Bulldog Athletics produced both region champions and state champions this year. Our CATE program also continues to thrive. Our tradition of FFA accomplishments continued strong, with our teams earning accolades like state titles in Soil Judging and Land Evaluation and Upper Creed Speaking. Pendleton High School is also an Amazon Future Engineering School. CATE is employing programs like Edhesive and Microburst to prepare our students to be college and career ready. Our students have also earned professional certifications in fields like Health Science, Firefighting, EMS, and Automotive Technology.
As the new school year commences, know that the faculty and staff at Pendleton High School believes in you. We hope that each of you will always display pride in your family, yourself, and your school. Together, let’s continue to work diligently to further our achievements by challenging minds, building character, and preparing ourselves for the future.
