It has been quite a year for our North Knights! Resilience is defined as the capability to maintain core principles and integrity in the face of dramatically changed circumstances. Partnering with families was crucial during this 20-21 school year as we all faced many obstacles due to the global pandemic.
During this time of unchartered waters, all stakeholders in our system were resilient, empathetic, and proactive in meeting the needs of our students. As a Leader in Me School, we are grateful for the cooperation of our students as they practiced safety protocols such as having their temperatures checked upon arrival to school, wearing a mask, working behind desk shields, remaining safely distanced while at school, washing their hands multiple times throughout the day, and adjusting to virtual learning at home.
North Elementary is such a special place for our student leaders to learn and grow. We are proud of our North Knight team who had high expectations for each and every student- hybrid and virtual. Our students are kind, compassionate, and inquisitive. Together with our dedicated staff, we continued to strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe.
Our mission to develop responsible, hardworking, life-long learners helped us provide a safe and rigorous, but joyful school environment. Whether we were learning in-person or virtually from home, our goal to encourage active student engagement and foster a love for learning was accomplished.
We are so thankful to everyone on our team who helped make this year of many unknowns a success. With the obstacles we faced, our students have learned the following the about themselves: responsibility, collaboration, flexibility, and increased knowledge as 21ST Century learners who are prepared for a whole new world of technology. Our North Knights are truly resilient!
