McCrorey-Liston School of Technology (MLST) helps all students develop world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by a strong curriculum through the use of technology in partnership with our community stakeholders. During the 2020- 2021 school term, MLST worked to build a sense of community in the midst of a pandemic. The school rallied together with its students, parents, and community of stakeholders by continuing our vision to be leaders in teaching with students who have Advancement Via Determination goals (AVID).
Through the collective efforts of all stakeholders, the students, teachers, and parents were successful in navigating innovative ways of teaching and learning using a hybrid instructional platform. Although challenging at times, the McCrorey-Liston school family was successful in nurturing the creative and academic talents of our scholars. Throughout the year, teachers were involved in data discussions, professional development, professional learning communities, and vertical articulation for continuous school improvement. Through the use of Modern Teacher, teachers were able to create lessons and playlists for easy accessibility for both students and parent utilization.
The School Improvement Council (SIC) and the school community also played a vital role in the lives of our scholars. The SIC hosted school-wide events and sponsored initiatives to meet the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of the students. Additionally, the students at MLST were engaged in a plethora of opportunities throughout the year.
