We are proud to help our students develop world-class knowledge, world-class skills, and life and career characteristics as determined by the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our teachers will be teaching South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards in all classes.
We will offer a quality educational program from pre-school through 12th grade and beyond with students having the opportunity to enroll in the Early College Program.
We have consolidated the Hampton 1 School District and the Hampton 2 School District into the new Hampton County School District. This consolidation will strengthen our position financially to help us provide programs and services for our children that will prepare them for academic challenges on the college level or for vocational trade opportunities.
Our goal is to develop and provide unique educational opportunities for our children.  Unique in the sense that the opportunities will enhance each student's knowledge or awareness of life; unique concepts and skills that they can use throughout their lives.
It is our intent to use Total Quality Management concepts in the operation of our school system. These concepts will allow for improvement to take place through process improvement teams and committees.
We are focusing on improving curriculum and instruction. We have employed instructional coaches, reading coaches and curriculum directors for pre-K – grades 6 and grades 7 – 12 in order to improve our delivery of instruction and promote learning for every child. We are purchasing productive reading and math programs available for our students.
We are continuing to operate schools in the south side of the county as well as the schools in the north side of the county this school year. We have combined the central office locations of both former districts to maximize knowledge and resources.  We are in our first year of consolidation and excited about the new school year.
We have accomplished a great deal by working together as a team focusing on our primary goals of improving student achievement and creating an optimum environment for learning by implementing Conscious Discipline. Conscious Discipline is a program that focuses on a proactive approach to teaching behavior by addressing missing skills. Hampton County School District will not only focus on the students’ academic success, but also on their social and emotional well-being.
We believe students learn best in an environment conducive to learning.  We have improved our school facilities by roofing repair or replacement projects, installing canopies, installing handicapped ramps, installing HVAC systems, painting, improving security through fencing projects, and purchasing cameras for the schools. These are only a few of the many projects that are either completed or underway. We have renovated the track athletic area at one high school to include a new track, bleachers, lighting, as well as improvements at all athletic facilities.
We are excited to enable the community to benefit from these improvements as well.
We want to thank our community for your continued support and our Board of Trustees for their outstanding leadership and support.  We expect to have a very productive 2021-2022 school year.
