Boiling Springs Middle School teachers and staff assist all students in developing world class skills and life and career characteristics as outlined by the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through the implementation of a relevant and rigorous curriculum. We recognize the importance of exposing our students to high-quality learning by utilizing one-to-one technology, offering world language opportunities, exposing students to numerous career exploration experiences and differentiating instruction on a daily basis to meet each student’s individual academic needs. Boiling Springs Middle School is preparing our young adults to be successful in our ever-changing world.
It is imperative to develop our young adults’ academic skills; however, we must also continue to develop good citizens. Boiling Springs Middle School continued to build our positive behavior intervention system during the 2019-2020 school year. On the first day of school, we began teaching L.E.A.D. The acronym means Lifting Others Up, Engage in Learning, Accept Responsibility, and Demonstrate Good Citizenship. Our entire school community embraces these principles daily. Throughout the school year, our L.E.A.D. team partners with the school community in service learning opportunities. Our team collected and donated over 5,000 pairs of socks and over $1,000 to local families in need and local community organizations as a way to demonstrate our service to others.
Developing awareness for problem-solving is critical to the middle school student. Our STEM elective continued to expand with problem-solving projects and real-world applications. Our Math Counts team competed and finished in First place at the Upperstate competition hosted by Clemson University. Club Hour entered its sixth year with each club emphasizing the characteristics of the Profile of the SC Graduate. In addition, BSMS offers superior Fine Arts and athletic programs. Students are encouraged to explore their interests during the school day and beyond.
At Boiling Springs Middle School, we will continue to challenge and support our students as they grow, learn and develop skills to L.E.A.D the pack. We are thankful for the support of our district and community as we strive to provide world-class opportunities for our students.
