Florence School District Three (FSD3) helps all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by ensuring students are college or career ready. We provide innovative and challenging opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. We motivate all students to pursue rigorous, engaging programs of study and other learning opportunities that meet challenging academic standards and prepare for college and careers.
Student achievement continues to improve as teachers and interventionists differentiate instruction to meet the needs of our students. Additionally, disciplinary infractions continue to drastically decrease due to our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) implementation district-wide and our focus on addressing social, emotional needs.
The district's early college program offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credits. We now have three cohorts of Early College students. The program allows students to receive college credit while in high school and save money and reduce the cost of a college education. FSD3 celebrated ten students in June 2020 that earned their high school diplomas and an Associate's Degrees from Florence- Darlington Technical College.
The district continues to partner with the Continuum located in Lake City. The Continuum is a breathtaking new $25 million facility in downtown Lake City. It is a regional center for education and workforce development, focused on advancing the knowledge and mastery of innovative and technical skills. We continue to expand our career track offerings and apprenticeship opportunities by working closely with the Continuum and our local colleges. We currently offer welding, HVAC, masonry, auto tech, building construction, health science, culinary arts, nail tech, and machine tool. We are preparing students for careers and life beyond high school.
Our competent and qualified teachers, staff and instructional leaders, and the support and shared vision from our students, parents, staff, and the communities we serve, FCSD3 continues to work toward becoming a premier school of choice and graduating students who are college or career ready.
