Gilbert High School remains steadfast in its commitment to helping every student develop the World-Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Guided by Lexington School District One’s mission to ensure every student learns, grows, and excels, we continue to focus on what has proven most effective: building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and providing the academic, emotional, and physical support each student needs to succeed.
Over the past several years, we have established a clear vision for who we are as a school community through our commitment to LEAD the Gilbert Way. More than a slogan, LEAD represents our daily work and collective mindset—Lead by Example, Engagement, Actionable, and Driven. It serves as the foundation for how we support students, collaborate as educators, and strengthen our partnerships with families.
This year, we remained committed to the systems and structures that have become the cornerstone of our success. Rather than searching for the next initiative, we focused on refining and mastering our craft through the consistent implementation of our school-wide practices:
- PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act): Our continuous improvement process remains embedded in classrooms and school operations, helping students and staff set goals, monitor progress, analyze results, and make adjustments that lead to growth.
- LEAD Time: Our dedicated academic advising period continues to provide opportunities for teachers to monitor student performance, attendance, and well-being while connecting students with the resources and support needed to thrive.
- Club Day: Student engagement remains a priority as we continue to offer meaningful opportunities for students to connect with peers, teachers, and their school community through a wide variety of clubs and activities.
- PLCTeams: Our teachers continue to collaborate across grade levels and content areas, examining student data, discussing individual student needs, and coordinating support systems that ensure every student is known, valued, and challenged.
As a result of staying true to these core practices, we are seeing continued growth across virtually every measure of school performance. Our academic achievement, End-of-Course assessment performance, graduation outcomes, college and career readiness indicators, student engagement, and stakeholder satisfaction continue to trend upward. These gains affirm what we have long believed: sustained success is not achieved through constant change, but through consistent excellence in the work that matters most.
We are especially proud of our students' accomplishments beyond the classroom. Scholarship awards continue to rise, reflecting the dedication of our students, families, teachers, and counselors. These opportunities are creating brighter futures and opening doors for Gilbert graduates to pursue their dreams.
As we look ahead, our focus remains clear. We will continue on the path that has brought us success by refining our practices, strengthening our relationships, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to student achievement. Excellence is not a destination but a continuous journey. By staying committed to what we do best and striving each day to master our craft, we will continue to create opportunities for every student to succeed.
The future of Gilbert High School is bright because our students, staff, families, and community continue to move forward together with one purpose and one heartbeat. We are proud of our progress, grateful for our partnerships, and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead as we continue to LEAD the Gilbert Way.
Warm regards,
