Welcome Elementary is committed to providing rich, meaningful instructional experiences that help all students develop world-class skills and the life and career characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our school continues to focus on academic growth, student leadership, family engagement, and community partnerships to ensure every child has access to high-quality learning opportunities.
To support student success, Welcome Elementary provides a variety of instructional and intervention supports. These include Leader in Me, reduced class sizes through Title I funding, a Multilingual Learner co-teaching service model, Communities In Schools, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Together, these efforts help us meet the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of our students.
We also believe students should have opportunities to explore their interests and develop leadership beyond the classroom. Welcome Elementary offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including Girls on the Run, Chorus, Safety Patrol, His Turn Soccer Club, Cub Scouts, WETV, LEGO Robotics, Art Club, and Girls with Purpose. These opportunities allow students to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop skills that support their growth as learners and leaders.
Community partnerships continue to have a tremendous impact on our school. Partners such as Palmetto Baptist Church, KEYS Foundation, Cliffs Residents Outreach, Balloon Envy, Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Parker Fire Department, Tremont Church of God, Public Education Partners, ScanSource, and many others help us support the needs of our students, staff, and families. We are grateful for the generosity, time, and care these partners provide to the Welcome community.
Welcome Elementary is proud to offer family partnership events that bring our school community together. Events such as Hispanic Heritage Night, Spookley the Pumpkin, Gingerbread Literacy, and STEM Night are well attended and provide families with meaningful opportunities to engage with the school. We also provide a Family Resource Room where parents can check out literacy and math activities to use at home with their children. In addition, the number of parent volunteers has increased, allowing us to strengthen support for families and expand resources available to our community, including Rosetta Stone access for Hispanic families.
At Welcome, we believe every student can lead and succeed. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our families, partners, and community as we continue creating a school where students are supported, challenged, and prepared for a world of possibilities.
