Fairfield Elementary School is committed to helping all scholars develop the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing engaging learning opportunities that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and responsible citizenship. Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, our theme, "Anchored in Excellence, Powered by Growth," reflected our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, structured, and academically focused environment where every Stingray excels—every day. We believe every scholar can achieve at high levels when provided with rigorous instruction, meaningful relationships, and the support needed to succeed.
At Fairfield Elementary, our faculty and staff work collaboratively to provide rigorous, standards-based instruction that meets the needs of every learner. Teachers utilize High-Quality Instructional Materials, evidence-based instructional practices, and differentiated instruction to challenge scholars while providing the support needed for academic success. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), instructional walkthroughs, coaching conversations, and data meetings allow teachers and school leaders to continuously refine instruction, strengthen Tier I practices, and improve student outcomes.
Student progress is monitored through multiple assessment measures, including SC READY, i-Ready Reading and Mathematics Diagnostic Assessments, MasteryConnect, HMH Assessments, AMIRA Reading Assessments, and GOLD for our youngest learners. Assessment data is used to guide instructional decisions, identify learning gaps, and provide targeted interventions through our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Daily small-group instruction, intervention, enrichment, and ongoing progress monitoring ensure that every scholar receives the support needed to grow academically.
Technology continues to enhance teaching and learning across our school. Scholars have access to one-to-one Chromebooks, interactive classroom technology, Google applications, and digital instructional resources that promote collaboration, creativity, and personalized learning. These tools also strengthen the partnership between home and school by providing families with access to instructional resources beyond the classroom.
Developing the whole child remains a priority at Fairfield Elementary. Through our implementation of Leader in Me, scholars are developing leadership skills that encourage responsibility, goal setting, collaboration, perseverance, and personal growth. Our schoolwide STING expectations—Show Leadership, Take Responsibility, Include Others, Navigate Challenges, and Give Kindness—are reinforced through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, restorative practices, and quarterly PBIS Stingray Celebrations, which recognize scholars for demonstrating positive behavior, leadership, citizenship, and academic success.
Fairfield Elementary provides scholars with numerous opportunities to develop their interests and talents beyond the classroom. Students participated in Jr. Beta Club, Sing-Rays Choir, STEM experiences, Career Day, academic competitions, and other leadership opportunities that encouraged teamwork, communication, and creativity. Throughout the year, scholars were also recognized through Quarterly Academic Awards Programs, the Stellar Stingray recognition program, attendance incentives, and leadership awards that celebrated academic achievement, growth, citizenship, leadership, and positive behavior.
Family and community partnerships continue to play an essential role in the success of Fairfield Elementary. Families participated in Open House, the Annual Title I Meeting, literacy and STEM events, Duke Energy Science Night, parent workshops, Grandparents Day, Career Day, and other family engagement activities designed to strengthen the connection between home and school. These events provided meaningful opportunities for families to support student learning while building strong relationships with our faculty, staff, and community partners.
Fairfield Elementary School remains committed to preparing every scholar for future success by providing rigorous instruction, meaningful leadership opportunities, and a learning environment where every child is known, valued, and challenged to excel. Through the collective efforts of our scholars, families, faculty, staff, and community, we continue to build a culture of excellence that empowers every Stingray to learn, lead, and achieve.
