Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to preparing every student for future success by intentionally weaving the World-Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate into a balanced environment of nurturing support and academic rigor. We are incredibly proud of our students' continuous growth, dedication, and academic progress this school year.
Our primary focus remains anchored in delivering strong core instruction with a rigorous emphasis on the foundations of literacy, reading, writing, and mathematics. To ensure all students are developing World-Class Knowledge for college and career readiness, teachers actively collaborate both vertically and within grade-level teams. By analyzing data from common formative assessments, FastBridge, and iReady, our team of educators precisely tailor daily instruction to meet the evolving needs of our learners.
Belvedere Elementary thrives on data-driven, student-centered practices. Our instructional framework heavily incorporates small-group instruction to directly target students' unique strengths and areas for growth. Beyond the core curriculum, we have design-focused intervention opportunities that provide a dual approach of both remediation, to bridge achievement gaps and accelerate learning and enrichment, to challenge and extend the capabilities of students who are ready to excel further.
To support these initiatives, our teachers engaged in targeted professional development, collaborative instructional planning days, and extended-day planning sessions. These academic conversations focused on unpacking the rigor of state standards, mastering highly effective instructional strategies, and developing aligned, high-quality assessments.
We believe in nurturing the whole child. Our continued implementation of the "House Model" continues to foster a strong work ethic, exceptional interpersonal skills, and outstanding character. This positive school culture has resulted in a significant reduction in student behavior referrals and reduction in students receiving multiple referrals. Furthermore, we are thrilled to celebrate global citizenship through our six cohorts (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) of Mandarin Chinese language learners, fulfilling the World-Class Knowledge component of multilingualism.
At Belvedere Elementary, we know that education is a shared responsibility. We are deeply grateful for our active PTO and over 200 approved volunteers. A substantial number of these volunteers commit their time weekly to support our learners with foundational reading and math skills, reinforcing our classroom efforts.
With the unwavering support from all of our stakeholders, we continue to see remarkable academic and social-emotional growth in our students.
