Rock Hill Schools is raising the bar for student achievement. Across our district, our focus is clear: accelerating student learning while ensuring students have access to experiences and pathways that prepare them for college, career, and life.
That commitment can be seen in the opportunities available to students before they graduate. Through our expanding dual enrollment and Middle College programs, students can graduate high school with a significant head start on their college or career journey.
Through partnerships with Winthrop University, students can pursue a Business Leadership or Teacher Education degree, allowing them to earn two years of college credit before graduating high school. Students can also earn 18 college credit hours through our Dual Language Immersion program for Multilingual Learners.
Our Middle College partnerships with York Technical College and the University of South Carolina Lancaster give students the opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.
The goal is for every student to walk across the graduation stage with a diploma in one hand and something else in the other - college credits, an industry-recognized credential, a career certification, or the skills and experience to step confidently into their future. Thanks to the 18 programs offered at our highly successful Applied Technology Center, that vision is becoming a reality for students across Rock Hill Schools.
Our students continue to give us plenty to celebrate. Graduates from our three high schools collectively earned more than $48 million in scholarships.
We are also investing in innovative spaces for learning. This year, Rock Hill Schools opened the doors to the new Sunset Park Center for Accelerated Studies, transforming one of our district’s older schools into a renewed learning environment focused on opportunity.
Exceptional schools also require exceptional people. Once again, Rock Hill Schools began the school year with a 99% teacher hiring rate. At a time when school districts across the country continue to compete for talented educators, we are proud that people want to be part of Rock Hill Schools and the work happening to accelerate student outcomes.
Spring 2026 assessment results show academic growth. Middle school math saw some of the strongest gains, with seventh-grade performance up 10.6 percentage points and eighth-grade performance up 18.6 points. Career readiness also increased significantly, with students earning a career-ready credential rising from 64.9% to 74.1%, exceeding the state rate of 72.2%.
Even with gains, we know the work is far from finished. We are keeping our focus where it belongs: accelerating student learning and helping every student reach higher.
