Lake City Early Childhood Center of the Arts is committed to nurturing every student to achieve the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Through engaging and challenging learning experiences, we aim to develop confident, capable leaders. With a strong emphasis on literacy, we proudly live our motto: “Leading & Learning through the Arts.” Our goal is to cultivate fluent readers, thinkers, writers, and leaders—laying a solid foundation for lifelong success.
Our mission, “Building Leaders: Every Chance, Every Day!”, embodies our steadfast commitment to student growth. We instill leadership and character through The Leader in Me’s 7 Habits of Happy Kids and reinforce our core expectations—Be Ready, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible—which serve as the backbone of our school culture.
Each week, our educators engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), designed to align professional growth with school-wide needs identified through data sources such as MAP, IRLA, and ongoing progress monitoring. These sessions are strategically structured to enhance instructional practices and further equip our young leaders for a successful future.
As an Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) Certified Site, we emphasize the four C’s—critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity—integrating the arts to engage all learners. Our arts-rich environment offers a variety of experiences, including field trips, integrated units of study, and Artists-in-Residence programs, which make learning both meaningful and memorable.
Our implementation of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework has reinforced a culture where students embody our expectations and rise as leaders. Through the integration of the arts, The Leader in Me, and PBIS, our students are growing into well-rounded individuals prepared for both college and career readiness.
Arts integration has also strengthened parent and community engagement. Throughout the year, student performances provide opportunities to build self-confidence and highlight academic and leadership achievements. We also host family-centered events such as parenting nights, literacy nights, and collaborative art projects. Our School Improvement Council and Arts Steering Committee continue to expand community partnerships and parent involvement.
It is a privilege to witness the growth and accomplishments of our students each year. We are proud of the continued success and collective efforts that define Lake City Early Childhood Center of the Arts.
