Florence County School District Two assists all students in developing the world-class skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through continued growth in educational opportunities, innovative programs, and instructional technology. Our mission is to encourage and support students with ongoing motivational and educational opportunities to prepare them for successful lives in an ever-changing world. We are driven by the continuing effort to achieve excellence, the foundation on which we build our success.
Committed to student success, our faculty and staff ensure that every student succeeds through evidence-based instruction and innovative strategies. Our schools offer technology-rich learning environments where students collaborate and engage in inquiry-based projects to solve real-world problems.
The district continues progressing in instructional technology and infrastructure to meet students' needs. Students in grades PK-12 are given devices for both school and home use to reduce gaps in learning. The District has also committed personnel and resources to address COVID-19-related learning loss, using assessment data to provide tiered interventions. The district uses a multi-tiered system of supports to address each student's academic and social-emotional needs.
A choice Montessori program is available for preschool, lower, and upper elementary grades. STEM practices are integrated into the curriculum for problem-based learning experiences and real-world applications. We aim to prepare students for college and careers by creating realistic connections between academics and real-world applications. Hannah-Pamplico Elementary/Middle School implemented Stephen Covey’s Leader in Me program to teach and enhance soft skills and was named a 2023 Lighthouse School for its efforts.
In partnership with Florence-Darlington Technical College and Francis Marion University, Hannah-Pamplico High School offers college dual-credit courses at The Continuum in Lake City, thanks to a collaboration with the Darla Moore Foundation. The District is also part of the Lower Florence County Workforce Ready Project, encouraging high school students to graduate college and career-ready while participating in workforce development opportunities at The Continuum and McLeod Health.
The District shares a vision that every student entrusted to us will leave our schools as a fully competitive, well-rounded individual, qualified for college or a career and prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. We are unwavering in our commitment to providing all students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become productive members of society and our world.
