Riverview Charter School cultivates a vibrant, close-knit community where every child engages in meaningful, hands-on learning. Grounded in our mission to nurture the whole student, we blend rigorous academics with real-world experiences, service-learning, and creative exploration—preparing learners to thrive in our interconnected global society.
From kindergarten through eighth grade, our curriculum merges foundational skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and world language with interdisciplinary, 21st-century themes. Students design and lead service-learning projects in partnership with local organizations; conduct environmental investigations through fieldwork, and express themselves in visual and musical arts studios. Interactive simulations and role-play bring history and culture to life, while project-based challenges spark collaboration, critical thinking, and media and technological literacy.
Wellness is woven throughout our program. Children build healthy habits through daily movement, nutrition education, and mindfulness activities. Our classrooms follow developmentally appropriate, learner-centered models—featuring reader’s and writer’s workshops, integrated arts, and technology-rich problem-solving. We honor diverse learning styles by employing multiple-intelligence strategies, team teaching, and inter-class mentorship that provide students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they work with their younger peers. Families and community members play an integral role: grandparents, local artists, scientists, and civic leaders guide projects, share expertise, and inspire our students through regular incorporation into classroom activities as well as via community events throughout the year.
Assessment at Riverview is authentic and student-driven. Through portfolios, presentations, and self-reflective conferences, each learner sets goals and tracks growth across academic, social, and emotional domains. Our educators engage in continuous reflection and collaboration—partnering with families to ensure that every child’s journey is supported, celebrated, and purposefully directed.
At Riverview, learning is alive, joyful, and deeply connected to the world around us. Together, we empower our students to become engaged citizens, lifelong learners, and compassionate leaders.
