Kingstree High School, located in the county seat of Williamsburg County, now serves approximately 714 students following the consolidation of C.E. Murray High School and Kingstree High School. The campus has been expanded to include HOPE Academy, the district’s alternative education program, and FLEX Academy, designed to support students who are overage for their grade level and help them get back on track academically.
The 2024–2025 school year marked significant growth in academic rigor. The addition of the PLTW/STEM U Lab, along with partnerships with the Virtual Governor’s School, The Continuum, and Williamsburg Technical College, has provided students with enhanced opportunities to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Kingstree High School remains focused on equipping every student with the tools necessary to thrive in a competitive and ever-evolving global society.
To foster leadership and career readiness, students have participated in business field trips, listened to visiting speakers, and taken part in mentorship programs. Technology integration continues to play a key role in instruction, with each classroom equipped with ClearTouch panels and desktop computers. Additionally, every student is provided with a wireless-enabled laptop to support their learning.
In preparation for End-of-Course assessments, students participated in an intensive review initiative known as the “EOC Blitz.” This focused effort enabled scholars to revisit and reinforce course content, thereby increasing their chances of success on these critical exams.
Recognizing the importance of communication and collaboration—essential skills for 21st-century learners—Kingstree High School encourages students to work together and invites parents to remain actively engaged in their children’s academic journeys. This year, students created group chats to share information and coordinate events, further developing their teamwork skills. The school keeps families informed through regular updates to its website, an automated messaging system, and frequent posts on Facebook.
Kingstree High School remains steadfast in its mission to provide rigorous academic standards and innovative instruction, while offering leadership opportunities that prepare all students to achieve the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
