Hemingway High School, an exciting educational environment that houses scholars in grades 9-12, assists scholars by inspiring them to discover, cultivate, and maximize the greatness within themselves.
With a continuous focus of our mission, of preparing all scholars for college, careers, and citizenship by providing a rigorous and supportive learning environment that equips them to succeed in a diverse and global society. The scholars at Hemingway High School “Imagine Greatness” on a daily basis.
World-class skills were embedded in faculty professional development to deepen teachers’ growth and understanding of these valuable twenty-first-century skills. Moreover, faculty and staff learned school-wide SEL strategies centered on relationships and built on the existing strengths of our school community.
Partnering with the Hemingway Career and Technology Center, scholars are provided opportunities to learn and enhance world-class skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and communication. Additionally, Career and Technology teachers have helped scholars enhance their skills in digital literacy through various business education classes. Scholars were taught to think critically about the vast amount of information that comes their way every day through differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and formative assessments. A variety of teaching and learning activities with the integration of the one-to-one initiative were used to enhance scholars’ online learning experiences.
Hemingway High School, with its positive scholar-friendly environment, offered a variety of initiatives that exposed scholars to life and career characteristics. Furthermore, Junior ROTC, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), etc. afforded scholars the opportunity to learn self-direction, integrity, perseverance, strong work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
The Hemingway High School administration, faculty, and staff will continue to work with community members to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all scholars. As we continue Imagining Greatness we remain Blue Blood Tiger Forever!
