Brookland-Cayce High School is committed to producing the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by equipping students with world-class knowledge and skills, as well as the life and career characteristics necessary to thrive in a 21st-century global society. Our school emphasizes rigorous academics, robust arts and athletics programs, leadership development, and meaningful service to both our local and state communities. We remain focused on educating the whole child academically and socially while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment through strong school and community partnerships.
Our academic programming continues to expand and excel. Brookland-Cayce High School offers 19 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and was one of the first schools in South Carolina to be designated as an AP Capstone Diploma Program school. During the 2024–2025 academic year, we achieved AP exam passage rate above the state average and increased student participation, bringing our outcomes closer to the global average. We proudly graduated 270 seniors with 104 of them being honors graduates in the Class of 2025.
In collaboration with Midlands Technical College, our dual enrollment program supports students in earning post-secondary credentials at no cost while in high school. This year, 11 seniors completed the program—earning Associate in Art and/or Associate in Science Diplomas or General Studies Certificates. The Class of 2025 was awarded $6 million in scholarships, with graduates accepted to top colleges and universities across South Carolina and the nation.
Our fine arts programs continue to exemplify excellence. Students in theater, dance, and music participated in multiple performances and concerts throughout the year. Numerous students earned placement in District Honor Choir, and District, All-Region, and All-State Bands and Orchestras. Programs like Teacher Cadet and our award-winning JROTC provide opportunities for students to explore pathways in education and military service, respectively.
Athletics remain a strong point of pride, with nearly all teams advancing to post-season play and several student-athletes signing collegiate commitments. Our student leaders also made significant contributions through student council events, community drives, and mentoring programs at local elementary schools.
Brookland-Cayce’s faculty and staff remain dedicated to continuous improvement and professional growth. Weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) ensure a student-centered approach to teaching and learning. A healthy mix of experienced educators and newer staff members bring both stability and innovation to our classrooms. Our positive school climate is affirmed by consistently high satisfaction ratings from students, parents, and staff on our annual surveys.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Brookland-Cayce High School Education Foundation, the School Improvement Council, the Booster Club, and many other community partners who contribute to our welcoming and achievement-oriented school culture.
At Brookland-Cayce High School, we prepare our students not only to succeed academically, but to “Go Forth and Serve.” We are proud of the accomplishments of our students, staff, and alumni, and we remain focused on ensuring all students graduate prepared for college, careers, and life beyond high school.
