Lee Central High School is a vibrant and dynamic learning community dedicated to helping every student achieve the goals outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Through collaboration with school counselors/staff and families, students develop personalized academic and career roadmaps that support their individual aspirations.
Our school offers a comprehensive academic and career-focused program structure. All students engage in rigorous core academic courses and have the opportunity to explore career pathways aligned with their interests. Our Career and Technology Center plays a central role, offering certifications in fields such as automotive technology, health sciences, food safety, and education, among others. These credentials boost students’ employability and reflect our commitment to real-world, hands-on learning.
A hallmark of our academic rigor is student participation in Advanced Placement (AP) and/or Dual Enrollment courses. Many students take classes through Central Carolina Technical College, earning college credits while still in high school. Notably, the number of students earning an Associate of Arts Degree has doubled this year, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence.
Our focus extends beyond academics. Programs like AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) foster student engagement through WICOR strategies—Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading—promoting deeper learning across all subjects.
Work-based learning experiences further enrich our students’ education, encouraging critical thinking and providing authentic connections to future careers.
At Lee Central, we also understand the importance of a supportive and safe school culture. We work continuously to build strong relationships among students, staff, and the wider community. Initiatives such as High Schools That Work has contributed to an atmosphere where students can thrive academically and socially.
Our commitment to excellence is also reflected in the work of our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). These teams focus on continuous improvement in key areas such as graduation rates, instructional quality, college and career readiness, and student satisfaction.
Our progress is evident in rising graduation rates and improved performance on end-of-course assessments—clear indicators that our efforts are making a measurable difference.
Lee Central High School remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive—academically, socially, and personally.
