At New Prospect Elementary, we are committed to providing a quality, student-centered education to our students. Our mission is to educate and empower all students to reach their full potential. Our staff is committed to providing quality educational experiences to help our students grow.
We were recipients of the Arts in Basic Curriculum and Distinguished Arts Program Grants once again this year and used these funds to provide an artist-in-residence for each grade level, as well as supplies for arts integration. We continue to be an ABC certified school and are at the beginning of our next three year cycle. We funded a student production of Willy Wonka Kids using grant funds. We continued our partnership with ArtsNOW. This provided additional professional development and live demonstrations of arts integrated lessons for our staff. We are exploring how to continue this partnership for years to come to build upon our staff’s knowledge of arts integration.
Professional development continues to be a priority of our faculty and staff. We continued to study and learn more about iReady. We focused on implementing our new ELA standards and new ELA curriculum. We continue to refine our practice in offering Tier I, II, and III instruction in order to support students. We supported this work by utilizing our Reading Coach and interventionists. All K4-3rd grade teachers, interventionists, Reading Coach, and Administrators completed LETRS Volume 1 training.
New Prospect Elementary School, in partnership with its entire community, is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a positive, challenging, and enriching learning environment. Our students, faculty, and staff continue to support charitable causes to help our community. We were able to contribute over 2000 cans for our District- Wide Canned Food Drive and collected items for our District “Christmas for All” event. We also participated in Kidz in Lids once again this year. Our Student Council also hosted a very successful fundraiser for the local humane society.
This year we looked to make the “little moments count.” This year was not without its challenges including the widespread impact of Hurricane Helene. We are proud of the way our community came together to support those in need and each other. We remain committed to providing a school where all feel safe, loved, and supported. We are excited to continue to connect with our families and the community at large.
We appreciate the support of our families, community partners, PTO members, and SIC members. We look forward to the continual development of our school. We enjoy sharing these experiences on our school social media pages so our community and school partners can follow our journey. We are grateful to be a part of our NPE families' lives.
