The dedicated faculty and staff at A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School are committed to providing experiences that help all students develop world-class skills and the life and career characteristics outlined in the Profile of the Graduate. We achieve this by incorporating research-proven strategies into classroom instruction, implementing targeted interventions during the school day and in extended-day programs, and offering a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Our student body consists of families who have lived in the area for generations, many of whom also attended A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary. We are committed to cultivating a school culture that promotes excellence in the learning environment. Through ongoing professional development informed by research, instructional best practices, and targeted student interventions, we ensure that our students receive high-quality instruction to become successful learners.
Teachers and paraprofessionals collaborate in weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), engage in grade-level planning, and analyze data from Common Formative Assessments (CFAs), all with a unified goal of student success.
At A.J. Lewis Greenview, we offer a diverse range of programs to enrich our students' learning experiences. Students in grades K-5 attend Spanish classes twice a week, as well as music, art, and strings classes every week. Advanced Academic Program classes are also offered to students in grades 3 through 5. Students can also participate in additional activities, including Student Council, the Jaguar Running Club, the WLGN News Show, the Lady GEMS, the Gentleman's Club, and the award-winning World Champion Odyssey of the Mind Team, which secured first place in the 2024 State Competition. These programs are designed to excite and inspire our students.
We recognize that educating our students is a team effort and value parent and community involvement as an integral part of school life. The collaboration between the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the School Improvement Council (SIC), and the school's volunteer program highlights the crucial role our passionate volunteers play in supporting our scholars. They serve as advisors for extra-curricular activities and as student mentors, reinforcing the importance of community engagement.
A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary is committed to excellence and to providing all students with experiences that prepare them for success in a technologically advanced and diverse global society. We will continue to strive toward this goal, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
