At Forest Heights Elementary School, growth is not just a goal; it’s our culture. Our commitment remains stronger than ever: to nurture every child and help them reach their full potential through the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We are a school on the rise, unstoppable in our pursuit of excellence, and everything we do is centered on one key priority: our students. With our guiding motto “We Can and We Will,” we make decisions each day based on what’s best for children, academically, emotionally, and socially. Our faculty and staff bring dedication, heart, and intentionality to every classroom, ensuring students are challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed. At Forest Heights, we believe in the power of a safe, loving, and academically rich environment. Each morning begins with class meetings designed to build relationships, boost confidence, and encourage advocacy. Our instructional day is built to maximize learning time, starting with an uninterrupted reading block that strengthens literacy through Balanced Literacy practices, and followed by an intentional focus on math. With more than 75 minutes of math instruction daily, our students engage in whole group lessons, small groups, and spiraled workstations that build deep understanding and critical thinking.
We embrace the advantages of being a one-to-one technology school, equipping every student with the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital world. Our school also offers enriching opportunities beyond core academics, including strings, music, visual arts, and participation in district-wide competitions where students consistently shine. Innovation is alive in our science lab, where hands-on projects promote inquiry and real-world problem-solving. Forest Heights is proud to be a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school. We uplift and encourage students through recognition of positive behavior, helping to build a strong, supportive school culture where all students feel valued and seen. Forest Heights Elementary continues to grow and thrive within the Richland One family. We serve a proud and vibrant community, and we are committed to reaching every learner, mind, body, and spirit. Our students are not only future-ready, they are future leaders, prepared to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
We are Forest Heights. We Can. We Will.
