The mission of Whittemore Park Middle School is to ensure that every student is prepared to be a productive member of society and to achieve personal success through innovative, student-centered learning delivered in a safe and positive learning environment. Whittemore Park Middle School works to help students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics featured in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing rigorous standards, providing opportunities for career and college explorations and expectations, and focusing on innovation, critical thinking, collaboration, project-based learning and technology integration. Our efforts have focused on improving achievement for all students with an emphasis on innovation utilizing 21st century tools. Our staff, PTO, School Improvement Council, and administration remain dedicated to excellence and innovation at Whittemore Park Middle School. Our school provides courses with rigorous standards, AVID, STEM opportunities, college and career exploration, fine arts programs, and learning experiences that allow for innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking. This is achieved through collaboration among the staff members, who work extensively to combine, streamline, and enhance our curriculum to make each student's educational experience as meaningful as possible. This commitment inspires our students to believe in themselves as learners, embrace diversity, collaborate with peers, and overcome economic disadvantages. As a learning community committed to providing our students with the highest level of education we hope to also instill character education through our PBIS model to help our students be: prompt and prepared; act responsibly; work with integrity; show respect.
