Lakewood High School's mission is “to create 21st Century scholars equipped with the skills needed to be college and/or career ready critical thinking and problem-solving.”  Our emphasis is to ensure that all of our students gain the knowledge, skills, and experiences to make them well-rounded students. In partnership with all stakeholders, Lakewood High School is committed to building positive relationships while creating safe learning environments.  Lakewood High School will establish and maintain a reputation of academic excellence. We will prepare our students to be socially responsible and productive global citizens.   

Lakewood High School is committed to providing each and every student with a quality education.  The school offers a comprehensive extracurricular program so that students have the opportunity to develop and enhance special talents and skills.  Positive relationships between students and staff are developed and nurtured to provide additional support and encouragement to further each student’s development. 

Students, staff, parents and the community must work together for a school to achieve greatness.  As we embrace the G.A.T.O.R slogan “Guiding Achievers Toward Outstanding Results,” the support of parents and the community remains vital to our success in reaching our goals and preparing students for the future.  The Lakewood staff will continue to prepare our students based on the guidelines listed in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
