Our school is helping all students develop World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by focusing on student engagement and school culture. Aiken High School is helping all students develop the world class skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating an educational environment that is focused on fostering creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. The Profile of the South Carolina graduate is evident in Aiken High’s 2024 graduating class. Our 2024 graduates’ critical thinking and communication skills earned them over $11 million in scholarships. Aiken High School’s Class of 2024 included 15 Palmetto Fellows and a National Merit Scholarship recipient. There were 6 seniors who received the Watson-Brown Foundation scholarship which awards $24,000 over 4 years. Nearly every local scholarship was awarded to our outstanding seniors in the class of 2024. There were several students who received full tuition for their academics and/or athletic accomplishments. We also had students who received bronze or silver Seals of Biliteracy. This year the class of 2024 celebrates a cohort of 4 Cambridge Diploma Candidates. There are 2 students who have decided to proudly serve our country and will be joining the armed forces.
Our student athletes continue to perform at the top level. The 2023-24 season saw region champs in Girls Golf, Girls Swim, Cross Country, Wrestling, and Track. Our Boys Swim, Girls Swim, and Girls Track teams all produced State Champions. Overall, we had over 50 individual all-region recipients, 10 All-State award recipients, and 3 individual State Champions. Seven student athletes signed college scholarships to continue their athletic careers.
At Aiken High School we are proud of the relationship we have established between our community, families, and faculty that has allowed us to create an educational environment that allows our students to shine.
