At Logan Elementary School, our vision is to equip our students with the necessary tools to develop world-class skills and life and career characteristics as taught or outlined by the South Carolina Profile of a Graduate. Logan is a small, urban school offering traditional and Montessori classes, which provide rigorous academic standards for our students. We aim to ensure that we use research-based best practices when planning and delivering instructional content to students. Moreover, we strive to ensure that all students' needs are met through the implementation of Logan’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This is a school-wide, data-driven, proactive framework for improving all students' learning and behavioral outcomes. It utilizes evidenced-based practices and an effective system to improve core instruction and intervention for each student's academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
Logan Elementary School is an Arts in the Basic Curriculum (ABC) and a Distinguished Arts Program site. The Fine Arts Program at Logan provides quality experiences in music, dance, drama, and visual arts through classes, ensembles, and other arts activities. Students also benefited from arts-integrated experiences provided through the learning of daily content. Our Leopards were provided several opportunities to showcase their learning and artistic abilities at many school and community events, including Family Literacy Night, Logan’s Annual Winter Showcase, and Kid’s Day of Lexington.
Logan greatly benefits from the support of our parents, the community, local business partners, and our faith-based partner. Parents and community members share decision-making by being active leaders on the PTO, SIC, and the Logan Foundations. Logan is fortunate to receive year-round volunteer support through programs such as Reading Matters and Reading Role Models. Logan also partners with Aflac to provide additional staff support for exploration in the science lab. As a result of our community’s dedication to the success of our students, Logan Elementary’s Leopard receive various learning opportunities that will shape their lives beyond the classroom.
