Carolina Forest Elementary is helping all students develop the word class skills and life and career characteristics of the profile of a graduate by following our school motto of Every Student Matters, Every Moment Counts.
Carolina Forest Elementary is located in the fasting growing neighborhood in the USA. Carolina Forest is a suburban neighborhood in Myrtle Beach, SC. CFE was voted as the Best School at the Beach through the Sun News. Currently, CFE has 1,340 students in grades CD through grade 5.
Carolina Forest has students from over 20 different nations who attend. We have a transient rate of about 24 percent each year.
Carolina Forest Elementary School had a "PAWSITIVE "2023-2024 school year. We started a Schoolwide PAWS PBIS system. Practice Safety, Act Responsible, Work Together, Show Respect. Carolina Elementary had the best SC State Report Card among Elementary Schools in Horry County with an Excellent Rating. We have received recognition through COGNIA Accreditation for 25 Years of Excellence in Education. Mr. Dennis Devorick continues as our Principal and Mr. Simon Keays, Mrs. Cynthia Johnson and new this year Ginger Godfree as Assistant Principals. Many of our students exceeded the performance goals set forth by Horry County Schools. CFE Map average skilled scores in Reading and Math showed an increase from last school year. Christina Cerone a Fourth Grade Teacher was selected as the Teacher of the Year for CFE. Renee Dallas our Book Keeper was named as the Staff member of the Year. Linette Watkins a Kindergarten Teacher was recognized as the Rookie Teacher of the Year. The hard work and dedication of our parents and volunteers, as well as our outstanding community support enhance the mission of our school. Our PTO was reorganized this year and was very active hosting various events throughout the year. We continue to promote the Fine Arts at CFE. We have continued our Fine Arts program along with a chorus who performed Wonka Jr. the Musical, 2nd Grade students performed for Veteran's Day, The Choir performed at the the Pelicans Baseball Stadium and at the Carolina Opry, along with a holiday concerts, We had six students selected to be part of the SC State Honors choir.
Community partnerships were formed with area restaurants, civic associations, and churches to support the school. We also had several clubs at the school, Clubs include; Technology Club, Library Club, and Good News. Several students and teachers participated in the Horry County Technology Fair. In the area of technology, CFE implemented PDL, iPads for students. Parents are communicated with via social media, email, phone calls, and Remind 101 App. Not only did our students succeed academically but they also succeeded in service projects. CFE collected the 2nd most funds in South Carolina for the Healthy Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association. Students participated in CFE Panther Fun Run and collected food for the a local food pantry. We ended the school year with a schoolwide field trip to Myrtle waves Waterpark to celebrate all of the achievements for the year.
