Lambs Elementary School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by focusing on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. We remain committed to our vision of providing a supportive and welcoming climate where diversity in education is valued and embraced. We foster opportunities for students to become lifelong learners in a safe and secure environment. We make data-driven decisions that benefit instruction and work intentionally to ensure that all students receive a high-quality, rigorous educational experience. All teachers meet with our school-based instructional support staff and administrators weekly using the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model. Teachers and support staff discuss and build upon effective instructional practices, address student needs, and develop plans to support student progress.
Collaboration at Lambs Elementary School occurs to ensure student success, academically and socially. Reading interventionists, along with teachers of students with exceptional needs, gifted students, and multilingual learners collaborate with classroom teachers daily. Our school guidance counselor and outside support staff lead the implementation of the Second Steps social-emotional curriculum for all students and Restorative Practices. We wholeheartedly believe that collaboration and teamwork are critical to student achievement. We also believe that parents and teachers should work together to support student growth. Parent conferences occur during the first semester of the school year to discuss student areas of mastery and areas for growth. Teachers and parents are able to develop action plans for helping students with academics at both school and home.
We have adopted a strong reading curriculum that is comprehensive and research-informed. It is a core language arts program that engages teachers and students through compelling, real world content. Lambs Elementary School continues to fully support the vision of the Charleston County School District. We are committed to reaching the goal of all students reading on grade level by fifth grade in 2027.
