The focus of Calhoun County Public Schools continues to center around "Teaching and Learning," while being the B.E.S.T. (Believe, Empower, Student-Centered, and Transparent). If these four simple concepts are successfully employed, then as a district, we positively impact student achievement and shape their current and future successes. Our staff goal is to provide a student-centered environment that fosters real world experiences that prepare our students to successfully enter into careers or higher education opportunities upon high school completion. For the 2023-2024 school year, six students obtained their Associate of Arts Degree from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College before graduating from Calhoun County High School through our Honors Academy. Notably, we remain an eLearning and TransformSC School District.
Calhoun County Public Schools also continues to address the whole child. We provide students with social and emotional learning and character building engagements. Our partnerships with community programs and organizations that provide services and work intimately with students and families has proven to be invaluable. We are proud of the way our students have become advocates for themselves and peers, with participation in student government, superintendent’s council, SIC, and PTO. Additionally, we salute our student-athletes for their tireless and honorable representation of the District as they competed in events across the State, and proud of our student scholars who have participated in regional and state competitions. Their dedication and accomplishments should serve as an example for all students.
Our District’s goal of continuous improvement will remain at the forefront for the 2024-2025 school year. This goal encompasses all systems that compose our district and support our students at every level as they become their B.E.S.T. The lines of communication between the district and our stakeholders will continue to be open and transparent. Stakeholders are always invited to engage staff in conversations to encourage and promote students and improve programs. Saturday with the Superintendent will still be available to those who want to take advantage of Saturday hours with the Superintendent. We strive for our students to be empowered, compete on a global stage, and succeed.
