Beck International Academy is helping all students develop world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by providing a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous learning environment for all students. Through our shared vision, Beck administrators, faculty, and staff work alongside parents and students to provide a rigorous curriculum with an emphasis on International Studies. Our students receive a comprehensive program of study with an emphasis on global leadership, emerging self-awareness and a commitment to serve the local and global community.
At Beck Academy, our focus is to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. Our students are encouraged to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers by examining significant local, national and global issues. Our teachers are always seeking to learn and have completed extensive professional development concentrated on international studies, developing individual learner profiles, enhancing instruction, examining best practices, integrating technology, and developing career awareness. We offer a variety of classes including 10 high school credit classes as well as courses in fine and performing arts, and computer technology. With a 99% passing rate on the English EOC and 99% on Algebra I we are extremely proud of our academic success.
Beck Academy teachers and administrators understand how important the middle school years are and we are committed to the education of the whole child. Beck is proud to serve as a Capturing Kids Hearts Schools which places an unparalleled focus on building positive relationships and creating ownership over the learning environment. Our student centered environment provides students with an unparalleled level of support. Guidance counselors are housed on the grade level hallways and work in close conjunction with teachers and grade level administrators to provide a proactive approach to conflict resolution and character development. Community partnerships with UPS and Mentor Upstate have enabled us to pair students with mentors and community outreach initiatives such as Bob’s Backpack’s, which ensures that students are provided with meals on weekends and long breaks from school.
