Williams Middle School helps all students with the development of world-class skills and career characteristics as outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.  We continue to work towards the goal of having all students be college and career ready by providing diverse learning opportunities and relevant activities that motivate our students toward success.  Williams Middle School students have the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education by participating in classes that introduce them to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) concepts, the arts, and foreign cultures.  Courses such as Robotics, Design and Modeling, and Medical Detectives provide our students with the opportunity to explore possible careers in science, engineering, and technology.  With a focus on technology integration, our students have the option to enroll in Digital Literacy, Multimedia Basics, and enroll in SC Virtual School courses.  Teachers have received training in Google Apps for Education, which allows for peer collaboration, immediate teacher feedback, differentiated learning, and online work submission.  Technology is incorporated in our classrooms using laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks.  Along with preparing our students academically, a variety of programs and organizations that focus the arts and career characteristics are available.  Many of our students take advantage of our extensive arts program that includes Dance, Chorus, Orchestra, and Band.  Williams Middle School focuses on school-wide literacy and cross-curricular integration with the goal of providing our students with a strong background in literacy skills.  We also have numerous afterschool opportunities for students to further explore their academic and extracurricular interests.  Our athletics program is an integral part of our school where students learn the value of teamwork, goal setting, and perseverance.  It is our mission to prepare our students to be successful both in and out of the classroom by providing them with solid academic experiences and diverse learning opportunities in an environment which focuses on having all students become creative thinkers who are prepared to compete in a global society.
