Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a wealth of opportunities for growth and success in the classroom and beyond. We believe our school motto, Scientia est Potentia (Knowledge is Power), applies to all aspects of life, not just academics.
Students who enroll at Woodmont High School become ingrained in the culture of the school first through the Freshman Academy which sets them on the path to success. The collaborative environment of the Freshman Academy allows students to grow together as learners. This community spirit is continued through our Peer Tutoring program, an inclusive way for students to make connections and collaborate for success, and Link Crew, which fosters relationships among students.
Through an award-winning Fine Arts department, an Agricultural Department that regularly participates in horticulture and livestock competitions, a large CATE department that includes Health Science, Teacher Cadet, Foods and Nutrition, and an Army JROTC program, students can pursue their passions. Also, our athletic program has thirty-four teams in fourteen sports, competing at the AAAAA level. These programs build creativity, innovative thinking skills, and encourage responsibility, maturity, and excellence.
Students have the opportunity to participate in rigorous academic programs such as Dual Credit, AP, and IB. The National Honor Society and Beta Club recognize outstanding academic achievement in our students. Our students with special educational needs can participate in the Occupational Diploma program and we partner with outside businesses to offer workforce opportunities for those students.
At Woodmont High School we believe strongly that our students are the future, and we are not alone in our attempts to prepare them for what lies ahead. Our community and stakeholders are an integral part of our success. We thank you for your support and look forward to continuing in excellence.
Mr. Joseph Foster, Principal
