Southside High School offers more than 75 courses and encourages differentiated instruction. Our educational program is academically challenging and built on high expectations. We offer a variety of programs: International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, Honors, CTE, AVID, and College Preparatory. All of these programs are designed to meet the unique and individual needs and interests of each student. Our students attend various colleges and universities, such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Clemson, USC Honors College, and Duke, to name a few.
Our highly competitive International Baccalaureate (IB)/Advanced Placement(AP) program and our burgeoning Dual Credit program has provided our students with the opportunity to accrue college credits in all academic areas. This year, we are excited to announce the addition of the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program to Southside High School. We invite you to learn more about AVID at https://www.avid.org. We have expanded our career options by adding to our CTE curriculum pathways, increasing our Health Science program options, providing opportunities for the development and expansion of internships and apprenticeships for all students. We also launched an exciting partnership with the Greenville Regional Education Center Advisory Board to support our vision - Preparing College and Career Ready Graduates.
We are committed to continuing to work to ensure that every student at Southside is college, career, and citizenship ready. Southside is working collaboratively to ensure that all members of our learning community – our students and their families, our teachers, assistant principals, and staff members– have opportunities to share their opinions and perspectives. Together, we can open doors of opportunity for ALL students. Our focus has been and will continue to be doing what is in the best interest of our students. Thank you for all of your support in preparing college and career ready graduates.
Sincerely,
Andre M. Dukes, Principal
