Georgetown High School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by providing educational opportunities for lifelong learning and for ethical, productive participation in a democratic society and the global community. The students at Georgetown High School are provided a rigorous curriculum that includes Honors level courses, AP courses, and PACE courses. We also offer a selection of Career and Technology courses that prepare students for careers after high school.
Creativity, teamwork, and work ethic are emphasized in all classes. Our strong academic program is supported by an outstanding guidance staff that meets with students throughout the year to evaluate graduation progress, academic standing, course requests, career goals and social issues. Enrichment sessions, in-class emphasis, and after-school tutorials are implemented to improve student academic proficiency. Student academic achievement is our priority.
Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. There are more than thirty athletic teams and over twenty-three active clubs and organizations at Georgetown High School. Student accomplishments and positive behavior are celebrated through academic ceremonies, athletic banquets, and other student recognition programs such as Student of the Month, Career and Technology Student of the Month, The Kennel Club, and our character education program (TAG). Displays documenting accomplishments are located in the Joe Isaac Student Center and in the main hallways of the school.
The importance of giving back to the community is understood by students at Georgetown High School; our students are taught to lead through service to others. The students sponsor collections for Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Relay for Life, Share the Warmth, March of Dimes, and annual canned food drives for Helping Hands. We appreciate our stakeholders and the contributions they make to ensure that our school is a great place for learning. We will continue to provide quality educational programs that empower our students to reach their potential and achieve their dreams.
